My wife and I both went up to volunteer for the Kingdom Assignment, and both received envelopes. When we learned what the assignment was, we decided to keep the money separate and see what opportunities God presented to each of us. During the summer, we decided it was time to get a new car for my wife. Her current car, a 1998 Honda Accord with almost 300,000 miles, had been given to us as a gift when we got married in 2013. A close high school friend of mine gave it to us so we could have a second car. During the last few years, we spent a lot of money repairing it and keeping it running well. Instead of trading in the car, we decided to pass the blessing on to another family instead. I knew that one of my coworkers at my old job needed a 2nd vehicle. She is a single mom with 4 kids, and 3 of the kids are old enough to drive but don’t have vehicles of their own. We were able to match the original $100 with another $100, and used the money to cover the costs of transferring ownership, new plates and tags, and other expenses. Whatever was left was given to the family to spend on future car repairs. I am thankful for the opportunity to give the car to another family, and a chance to contribute toward multiplying the kingdom. I hope the car will be a blessing for years to come.
