Foundational Beliefs
The Bible
We believe the scriptures of the Old and New Testament are verbally inspired by God and inerrant in the original writings. We believe they are of supreme and final authority.
The Triune God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, three in one, coequal, the Trinity.
God the Father
We believe in God the Father, the first person in the Trinity, who is the sovereign, perfect, and rightful ruler of all that exists. He created, sustains, and governs all things for his purposes and glory, and through Jesus, relates personally to Christians as Father.
God the Son
We believe in Jesus Christ, the second person in the Trinity, who is the only eternal Son of God. Through his virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, and victorious resurrection, he is the hope of the world, providing salvation and making all things new.
God the Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He is the life of every believer, and he empowers the preaching and teaching of the gospel.
Humanity
We believe that God created each person as male or female, as two distinct, complementary genders who together reflect the image and nature of God. We believe humanity sinned, thereby deserving spiritual death and separation from God. All human beings are born with a sinful nature manifested in thought, word, and deed.
Marriage
We believe that marriage is originally and continues to be defined by God in Scripture as the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive, covenant commitment for a lifetime.
Atonement
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice and that all who believe in him are justified on the ground of his shed blood.
The Resurrection
We believe in the resurrection of our Lord’s crucified body, his ascension into heaven, and his present life there as high priest and advocate for all believers.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is the gift of God, offered to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. All who receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit and become children of God and heirs of eternal life. This relationship is eternally secure.
The Church
We believe in the church, the body of Christ, whose mission is to preach the gospel to all the world. We believe that all of its endeavors should be supported by the support of the members.
Satan
We believe that Satan is a person, the author of sin, and the cause of the fall; he is the open and declared enemy of God and man. Satan is still working in the world to destroy the souls of men.
Last Things
We believe in that blessed hope: the personal and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Heaven and Hell
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost in hell, and the eternal blessedness of the saved in heaven.
Structural Doctrines
Ordinances
We are a church that affirms there are two ordinances: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is a one-time ordinance that happens post-conversion for a professing Christian and is a sign of God’s grace in Jesus. The Lord’s Supper is an ongoing ordinance for all professing Christians as a reminder and proclamation of God’s grace in Jesus.
Church Leadership
We are a nondenominational church led by a group of nine Elders and four people on the Leadership Team. We are a church that affirms the God-given equality of both genders and the God-ordered distinction for men only to serve in elder and pastoral roles.
Sanctity of Life
We are a church that affirms the sanctity of human life from conception to the last breath, as all people are made in God’s image, and that belief leads us to engage in ministry against both abortion and racism.
Politics
We are neither a Democratic nor Republican church, and our concern is for God’s Kingdom and not one American political party.
