A Glance Into Our History
God has moved in some incredible ways over the last 40 years. In those years, we’ve seen that the Reimagine vision started long before it was ever implemented. Take a walk down memory lane with us as we outline the history of Christ Community Chapel. As you scroll, we hope you are encouraged as you read the brief descriptions under each point in the timeline.
Church Founded
Pastor Jim Colledge founded Hudson Community Chapel in June with 8 families (32 men, women, and children) meeting at the Barlow Community Center.
Broke ground at our first building on Stow Rd.
Moved into the building on Stow Rd in July.
Pastor Joe Coffey came on staff.
Outgrew Our Building
Hudson Community Chapel outgrew their building on Stow Rd, sold it to Seton Catholic School, and began meeting at Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy.
Pastor Joe Coffey became co-pastor.
Broke ground at 750 W Streetsboro St in June.
First Service in New Building
The first service was held at 750 W Streetsboro St. Pastors Jim and Joe were excited to have a building where all of Hudson Community Chapel’s congregants could meet together for one service.
Outgrew one service and added a second.
Outgrew two services and added a third.
East Hall venue added.
Pastor Coffey became Lead Pastor.
Building Expansion
Expanded the Atrium and hallway and added the Living Room to promote mingling and fellowship between services.
Expanded children’s area by adding The Grid and The Fish Tank.
Launched first off-site campus in Aurora (formerly Lakeview Chapel).
Launched Stow Campus.
Name changed from Hudson Community Chapel to Christ Community Chapel.
Launched Highland Square Campus in Akron.
Launched Restoration Chapel at Cuyahoga Hills Youth Detention Center.
First Church Planters (Jon Ashley & Jeremy King) were hired with Orchard NEO in August.
New Church Planter (Ray Byrne) hired with Orchard NEO in August.
First Orchard Church Plants
Wingfoot Church in Goodyear Heights (Jon Ashley) & Story Church in Mayfield Heights (Jeremy King) were launched in September.
