CCC SENIOR PASTOR TRANSITION

Member vote to be held Sept. 4-11

Senior Pastor Transition FAQ's

Christ Community Chapel has a history of proactive and healthy transitions of senior leadership. Pastor Joe Coffey initiated the process of a transition a few years back believing that it is best for the baton to be passed, rather than dropped, only to have to be picked up by someone new. This began the process of Pastor Joe formalizing an already existing mentorship and friendship with Pastor Zach Weihrauch. Pastor Joe, Pastor Zach and the Elders of Christ Community Chapel all believe this is the best time to transition the Senior Pastor role to Pastor Zach.

On Thursday, September 4, an email will be sent to Christ Community Chapel members with a link to vote to affirm Pastor Zach Weihrauch as the Senior Pastor of CCC. Voting will remain open for one week and there will be time during Your Seven Minutes at the end of each weekly service that week for members to open the email and vote. The results of the vote will be communicated in weekly services on Thursday, September 11 and Sunday, September 14.

Those that have gone through the membership process at Christ Community Chapel will receive the email and are encouraged to participate in affirming Pastor Zach as the Senior Pastor of CCC.

Pastor Joe and Pastor Zach will continue to share preaching responsibilities with a plan to primarily rotate every other week.

Yes! Pastor Joe is continuing to serve in a full-time role at CCC. His title will be Teaching Pastor. He will be teaching and preaching and continuing to carry out the role of pastor without the weight of Senior Pastor that he has carried well for so long. Our hope is that he continues to find joy in this new role for years to come.

This transition is something to praise God for and to celebrate. Unfortunately, it is not common for even Christian churches to walk through a senior leadership transition with joy, humility, love and open-handedness. We are so thankful for the work God has done and for the modeling of leadership by Pastor Joe. The elders, leadership and staff at CCC are all confident and excited about the future and have an outstanding relationship with Pastor Zach. Additionally, there is a shared excitement in Pastor Joe continuing in his new role into the future.
