The Lordship of Jesus — Under His Rule, Into His Likeness
What does it truly mean to confess that Jesus is Lord? This Deep Dive will explore the foundational Christian claim that Jesus Christ is the exalted Son of God, reigning King, and rightful Lord over all creation and every human life. Together, we will examine the biblical and theological richness of Christ’s lordship—His identity as Prophet, Priest, and King; His authority over sin, death, the nations, and the church; and what it means to live under His reign.
Drawing from Scripture and historic Christian thought, we will consider how the confession “Jesus is Lord” shaped the early church, how union with Christ connects salvation and discipleship, and how the lordship of Jesus reorders our allegiance, reshapes our identity, and calls us into wholehearted obedience. This Deep Dive will help us behold more fully the supremacy of Christ and consider what it means to live as people increasingly brought under His rule and transformed into His likeness.
